BAE Systems Makes Long-term Commitment to FIA
Farnborough International has today revealed that BAE Systems has signed a multi-show agreement to participate at the Airshow until 2022. The three show agreement will see the British defence and aerospace company occupying Hall 5 of the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre venue which has been its home at the show since 2008.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of other multi-show agreements that have recently been agreed for FIA including Boeing, Martin Baker, Bombardier, QinetiQ and MBDA. All of which represents a continued long-term commitment to the show.
Speaking about the agreement, Farnborough International Commercial Director, Amanda Stainer, said, “Multi-show agreements such as these represent amazing confidence in the show and allow us to look much further into the future in its planning and development. We have a long-term vision to ensure the venue here at Farnborough remains the standard bearer for the UK and international aerospace industry. The Hall 5 structure was our first step in achieving this vision and BAE Systems has used the facility since it came online back in 2008. Both Lockheed Martin and GKN also have permanent structures on site.
Deborah Littell, Head of Corporate Events, BAE Systems also commented, “The Farnborough International Airshow is a flagship event for BAE Systems and Hall 5 offers us a major opportunity to showcase all of our capabilities. We use every inch of the 3,600sqm space to create an exhibition and function space that allows us to promote our capability and expertise in the air and air technologies, partnership and training, innovation and development. We look forward to working with the team at Farnborough International in the development of our presence at FIA18 and beyond.”
The 2018 edition of the Farnborough International Airshow takes place from 16th-22nd July 2018 under the banner of ‘The Future Starts Here’. Key highlights of the show include new industry features Aerospace 4.0 and Cargo. Additionally, FINN – Farnborough International News Network – a video-led news channel will be broadcasting news, interviews and commentary at the show under its FINN Live moniker. It will also host the FINN Sessions, a conference programme within two on-floor theatres in Hall 3 and 4 covering key industry topics.
Chalet and exhibition space for the event is already 97% sold or reserved with the organiser currently looking at expansion options to accommodate additional exhibitors. The Delegations Programme and other networking features such as Meet The Buyer continue to grow and promote business networking opportunities for all participants. The biggest change exhibitors and visitors will see in 2018 will be the new permanent Hall 1 offering a major advancement in facilities at the show for years to come.
