FIA attends NBAA
This week Amanda Stainer, our Commercial Director will be attending NBAA along with 27,000 industry professionals for what is considered the leading business aviation event of the year. She’ll be meeting with existing and potential customers regarding exhibiting at the Farnborough International Airshow in 2018.
For the business aviation industry, the Farnborough International Airshow has become an equally important event to exhibit at as NBAA. Back in early 2004, we built a dedicated business aviation park allowing our exhibitors to park their aircraft right in front of their exhibit at the show. Since then, business aviation has become a firm feature at the show and in 2016, the event saw 30 aircraft participating at the show from the likes of Bombardier, Embraer, Gulfstream and Piaggio.
Bombardier, Gulfstream, Pilatus, Diamond Aircraft, Airbus and Boeing have already confirmed their participation at FIA18 with Bombardier taking a much larger display area in a more prominent location. Furthermore, with supersonic travel hitting the headlines, Boom Supersonic will also be exhibiting, showcasing its supersonic commercial jet which is currently under development.
So why Farnborough?
In an interview with Flight International, Trevor Esling, Gulfstream’s regional vice-present of International Sales, EMEA, sums it up quite simply:
“Traditional business aviation shows like EBACE attract the kind of people we typically sell to – high net worth individuals, companies, for example. But Farnborough attracts the government delegations, which makes up a small part of our customer base.”
The Farnborough International Airshow also provides another opportunity to meet with potential customers that from London’s business community that might not necessarily attend other events around the world.
“It only takes one customer to come through the door to make the cost of exhibiting at Farnborough worthwhile,” says Esling.
